What we love most about The Pouch's concept is that the fabrics are tied on the handles instead of being sewed on. This means that it's very easy to swap fabrics depending on what outfit you are wearing and which pattern goes best with it. With only one pair of handles you can have many different pouches and even turn any square shaped scarf you have at home into a pouch as well. Watch the video below to learn how to make the furoshiki know in only 2 minutes.
The fabrics are sold individually as well (click HERE to buy). However, you can turn any square shaped fabric into a pouch, so don't shy away from using a vintage scarf or even a nice looking kitchen towel. Repurposing any fabric that you already own is the the most sustainable way to go.
Furoshiki are a type of traditional Japanese wrapping cloth traditionally used to transport clothes, gifts, or other goods. The specific technique we use for The Pouch and demonstrate in the video above is one of many furoshiki techniques in existence. We added our basket handles originally used in our Rosie basket and fabric in prints that are close to our hearts.
